Master in Space Optics and Remote Sensing

The University of Cagliari is glad to announce a Master in Space Optics and Remote Sensing that merges the centenary tradition of the University of Cagliari with the professional experience of the lecturers. The Master proposed by the University of Cagliari follows the track of the school for professionals on Space Optics Instrument Design and Technologies (www.soidt.org) organized in Sardinia since 2015 by the European Space Agency.

The II Level Master in Space Optics and Remote Sensing is a high education Programme corresponding to the level 8 of the European Qualifications Framework EQF. The Master is a one-year programme opening on October 2019 and closing on October 2020, made of front lessons, hands-on activities, internship at various European industrial and reserarch and individual study.

The front lessons, concentrated in 13 weeks at the beginning of 2020, are composed of 31 modules. The Master, with 25 teachers of which 9 from academia and the others from industry, agencies and research institutions, provides the right blend of theoretical foundation and practical experience.

The topics span from fundamentals in optics, optoelectronics and optical design to their applications to remote sensing. The lessons are geared to teach optics design and technologies specific of space systems and to prepare the students to be employed in the relevant industry.

To maximize the quality of the lessons, the attendance to the Master is limited to 20 students.

A graduation ceremony will be held at the completion of the Master.
